About "Aria" from Goldberg Variations by J. S. Bach

This "Aria" is from Goldberg Variations by the German composer, Johann Sebastien Bach from the Baroque era. He wrote the variations for harpsichord. However, you can play it on the piano or keyboard. Goldberg Variations contains 30 variations and the beginning Aria and ending Aria (the same as the beginning Aria).

Tips for playing Level 1 "Aria" from Goldberg Variations

After receiving a lot of request for an easier arrangement of "Aria from Goldberg Variations" that sounds still very similar to the original, we finally came up with "Aria" at Level 2 (very easy level) on this page. You will be playing both the melody notes and the harmonic notes. The fingering numbers are provided on every note on the music score. And you can stay in one hand-position for the entire piece. You do not have to change hand positions at all. However, you do have to stretch your thumb (the 1st finger) and pinky (the 5th finger) to black keys a few times. Therefore, please keep your entire hands close to black keys or above the black keys so that those shorter fingers can be used on the black keys easily. After you download it, please locate the hand-position on the tutorial page. When you see a sharp sign (#) on the music score, please go to the black key pictured on the tutorial page. Please remember that the sharp (#) signs from the 2nd note in a particular measure are not marked. So, please assume that those notes are also sharped notes. This arrangement does not require to use a damper (sustain) pedal. Even though this arrangement is at Level 2 (very easy), it is quite challenging. Luckily, you do not have to play this piece fast. So, please take your time and pace yourself. We arranged it in a way that the fastest (shortest) beat is the 16th notes, not 32nd notes. If you don't understand how it supposed to sound, please refer to our free complete audio sample on the top of this page before purchasing it or even after purchasing it to make it sound nice.
