About "Silent Night":
"Silent Night" is one of the most well-known Christmas carols. The music of "Silent Night" was composed by Franz Xaver Gruber and its lyrics were written by a German writer Joseph Mohr in German. Its English translation was written by John Freeman Young. It is a beautiful and peaceful song. To learn more about the story behind "Silent Night," please visit our page, "About Silent Night."
Tips for playing Level 2 "Silent Night":
This Level 2 (very easy) "Silent Night" has 1 hand position for the left hand and 2 positions for the right hand. That means you do have to move your right hand at the beginning of the 2nd page. But you do not have to move your left hand for the entire song. After you download it, please refer to the hand positions on the tutorial page. The fingering numbers are provided on all the notes. You need to play on black keys several times in this arrangement. When you see the flat (b) sign on the music score, please go to those black keys described on the tutorial page. This arrangement is for piano solo. However, you or someone else can sing along. The separate lyrics page is included in the PDF file. Unlike Level 1 "Silent Night," this Level 2 "Silent Night" plays both melody and harmonic notes. Therefore, it requires a lot more coordination with right and left hands and different fingers than Level 1 "Silent Night."
