Tips for playing Level 4 "Camptown Races"

This is Level 4 (intermediate level) of "Camptown Races." It is for piano solo. However, you or someone else can sing along. The separate lyrics page is included in the PDF file.

In this arrangement, you'll be playing the melody line with your right hand and accompaniment part with your left hand. With your right hand, you'll also be playing more than the single melody notes but also the additional harmonic notes. The left part in the 2nd section has a ragtime style accompaniment. You do have to jump around a lot, sometimes even with blocked octaves. Therefore, in the beginning, practice slowly and increase the tempo gradually. We only provided a few important fingering numbers for this level. There is no damper (sustain) pedal necessary. It is in an easy key, C major.
