About "Aria" from Goldberg Variations by J. S. Bach
This "Aria" is from Goldberg Variations by the German composer, Johann Sebastien Bach from the Baroque era. He wrote the variations for harpsichord. However, you can play it on the piano or keyboard. Goldberg Variations contains 30 variations and the beginning Aria and ending Aria (the same as the beginning Aria).
Tips for playing Level 1 "Aria" from Goldberg Variations
This sheet music we provide here on this page is an arrangement for "Aria" at Level 1 (beginner's level). You will be playing the melody notes only (single note at a time). There are no additional harmonic notes. The fingering numbers are provided on every note on the music score. And you can stay in one hand-position for the entire piece. After you download it, please locate the hand-position on the tutorial page. There are 2 black keys that you need to use; one with the right-hand 2nd finger, and the other one with the left-hand 2nd finger. When you see a sharp sign (#) on the music score, please go to the black keys pictured on the tutorial page. This arrangement does not require to use a damper (sustain) pedal.
The 2nd half of "Aria" is too challenging for beginners. Therefore this arrangement stops after the 1st half finishes. However, it still sounds nice. Please refer to our free complete audio sample on the top of this page. If you are not satisfied with the Level 1 arrangement, please try Level 2 "Aria" from Goldberg Varitaions which is a lot harder.
