About Mizue Murakami
Mizue Murakami is the founder and CEO of Galaxy Music Notes.
After obtaining music education from Musashino Academia Musicae (Tokyo, Japan), Cornish College of the Arts (Seattle, USA), and Banff Centre of the Arts (Banff, Canada), Mizue worked for and with these artists and organizations:
- Toured with Mikhail Baryshnikov (the world's legendary ballet dancer) as a pianist
- Worked with Mark Morris (American modern dance choreographer)
- Worked on music for a documentary film for KCTS television (Seattle branch of PBS - The Public Broadcasting Service)
- Worked as a committee for Bumbershoot Festival (the biggest music festival in the Pacific Northwest)
- Her composition was recorded by McCoy Tyner Piano Trio and Frank Morgan (legendary jazz musicians) on Fantasy Records.
She was also one of seven finalists at the International Thelonious Monk Piano Competition at the Smithsonian, Washington D.C.
Locally in Pacific Northwest, she performed in several different music groups in the styles of; jazz, classical, Latin, Caribbean, reggae, Brazilian, African (traditional), African pop, funk, dub, soca/calypso, and steel drum music as a keyboardist and percussionist.
From 1997 through 2020, she provided music and piano education in the Seattle Metropolitan area to hundreds, if not thousands, of students.

Using these skills listed above, she launched a publishing company for piano solo sheet music called Galaxy Music Notes in 2015.
At Galaxy Music Notes, after getting some help from some specialists when launching, she has been doing everything: arranging, composing, engraving, scoring, graphic design, and operating the website.
