More about this Level 2 "Canon in D" by Pachelbel:
"Canon" is one of most famous and popular music work that this German composer, Johann Pachelbel (1653 – 1706) in baroque era wrote. Canon in D has been very popular on several occasions such as Christmas and wedding.
This particular arrangement is for piano solo. This arrangement is written in the key of C major even though the original key was in the key of D major, to accommodate level 2 (very easy level) players. Because it was written originally in the key of D major, oftentimes this work is also known as "Canon in D". And Pachelbel wrote this piece originally for 3 string instruments.
Even though this is a very easy arrangement (Level 2) there are 3 pages of music and a lot of notes all the way through. We provided fingering numbers on all the notes. The good news is that players can stay in one hand position for the entire song and that there is no black key. Please refer to the hand position tutorial page. We provided specific pedal markings. Unlike level 1 Canon in D, this level 2 arrangement plays both melody and the harmonic notes at the same time. Therefore, a lot higher level of coordination between right-hand & left-hand is required than the one in level 1. Please refer the free complete audio sample on this page.
