About "Liebestraum No. 3":

'Liebestäume' means 'Dreams of Love' in English. It was composed by a Hungarian composer, Franz Liszt (1811 - 1886) from the romantic era as a piano solo piece. Liszt composed 3 pieces in Liebestraume. And this particular piece is No. 3 which is the most popular and famous one among all three. Also, it is one of the 2 most well-known works by Liszt. (The other composition is Hungarian Rhapsody.)

Tips for playing Level 6 "Liebestraum No. 3":

This Level 6 "Liebestraum No. 3" is in the original form composed by Liszt. It is also edited in the original key of A flat major. It is at a very challenging level and the highest level at our site, Galaxy Music Notes. There are a lot of wide intervals such as octaves and the 10th. If you have small hands and are not able to reach wider than octaves, please arpeggiate those notes. We additionally marked those wide intervals on the score where you can use optional arpeggio. Also, another challenging part artistically and technically of this piece is that you need to bring out the melody line a lot more than other harmonic notes. Sometimes that could be with your right hand, sometimes with your left hand. On the recording on this page, we didn't add too much rubato (time fluctuations - slowing down or speeding up). However, you can add your own artistic interpretation and add more rubato. Liszt had big hands. And you can tell he had big hands to write a piece like this. Different fingerings would work depending on the size of your hands. Therefore, we didn't provide fingering numbers on the score. If you are already at this level, you should be able to come up with the best fingering for you.
