Tips for playing Level 5 "Moonlight Sonata - The First Movement":
This 1st movement of "Moonlight Sonata" on this page is in the original form, not arranged at all. It is also in the original key. The 1st movement of "Moonlight Sonata" requires a player to play octaves throughout the piece with both right and left hands. Please pace yourself and try not to strain your wrists and arms when you practice. Relaxed arms and wrists are highly recommended. There are no fingering numbers suggested. And there are no specific markings for the damper (sustain) pedal use either. However, please use the pedal throughout the piece since the pedaling is a 'Must' for this piece. And refresh the pedal each time the harmony (chord) changes. You may refer to our free complete audio sample on the top of this page.
