About "Toccata BWV 565":

This spooky sounding fun piece, "Toccata BWV 565" was written as a pipe organ piece by a German composer, Johann Sebastien Bach (1685 – 1750) from the baroque era. It is a "Toccata" section of "Toccata, Fugue and Coda in D Minor BWV 565." Toccata is the most spooky sounding section. Even though it was not written for Halloween, it is now popular for the occasion. Visit our page, "About Toccata and Fugue BWV 565 in D Minor" to learn more.

Tips for playing Level 6 "Toccata BWV 565":

This particular level (Level 6: Expert) of "Toccata BWV 565" is in the original form J. S. Bach wrote in the original key of D minor. On the organ, this piece is played on 3 different keyboards. However, a piano only has 1 keyboard and there is no extra few very low keys that organ has. Therefore, some things are edited to be playable on the piano. We only did very minimal editing to preserve the originality. To create the very long sustained notes that an organ can create, we also added sustain (damper) pedal for piano on the score specifically. Notes that an organist can play with their feet need to be played with the left hand. That means you do need to jump around quickly in some areas. There are a lot octave-wide thick chords. If you have small hands and are not able to play all the notes within the octave, please omit one duplicated note.

If you have a keyboard, you could pick an organ sound to play this piece for fun. You can also play it on Halloween night.
